2012 Literacy Powerline Video Contest

Ready…Set…Action!

Literacy Powerline is pleased to announce that we are now accepting entries for the 2012 Video Contest! In partnership with the Literacy Funders Network, we are in search of videos that demonstrate the impact literacy has on lives and your community. We are delighted to have the great literacy advocate and film star Tony Plana and his wife, actress Ada Maris, lead our team of judges this year.

Entry Rules

Any literacy program or literacy coalition may submit a video. Videos must be an original video, 2–6 minutes in length. Videos may be submitted between July 15, 2012 at 12:01 a.m. (Eastern Time) and September 15, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Time).

How to Submit

  1. Click on Literacy Powerline Video Contest Intro to be taken to our request for videos.
  2. Upload your original video as a response to the Literacy Powerline Video Contest Intro.
  3. After you have uploaded your video, send an email message to Cathay Reta (cathayreta@sbcglobal.net) to confirm you have submitted an entry. Include your:
    • Name
    • E-mail address
    • Phone number
    • Program or coalition name
    • A brief description about your literacy program/coalition

Judging

Tony Plana and Ada Maris, Contest Co-Chairs, and a committee will judge the entries. Videos will be judged on

  1. Demonstrating the impact of literacy
  2. Concept/originality
  3. Entertainment value
  4. Overall effect
